EMAN 410: Energy Policy

Overview

This paper explores contemporary issues in the energy sector, focusing on the New Zealand context. Public and private sector perspectives on energy supply, pricing, demand-side management, related policy and emerging technologies are examined. These topics are related back to the overarching issue of sustainable development, to which energy utilisation is fundamentally linked.

The course alternates between normal lectures and seminars given by expert guest speakers. These seminars are open to the public.

Assessment

This course is 100% internally assessed by way of homework assignments, the main project of which will be worth 40% of the final mark.
