A career in Energy Studies can involve:

  • Energy auditing - doing the detective work to find out more much energy something is using and where waste is occurring.
  • Identifying and implementing energy efficiency measures - taking action to reduce this waste.
  • Designing and implementing renewable energy supply solutions - for remote areas and other places where conventional supply is not possible (or desired)
  • Promoting energy efficiency and conservation within an organisation or community - for a company, central or local government or a NGO (non-governmental organisation)
  • Advising on energy based matters - analysing or helping to formulate policy
  • Project based work - meaning variety in what you do
  • Opportunities to work in developing countries - helping solve the energy supply issues the people in those countries face.
