DWC Student Symposium

The Dodd-Walls Centre Student Symposium took place in conjunction with the annual Dodd-Walls Symposium in Wellington on 30 January 2010 at Weir House.

Students gave talks on topics including Bose-Einstein condensation theory, single atom trapping, quantum optics, and nonlinear optics. Attendees were from Otago University, Auckland University and Massey University. Congratulations to Matt McGovern for winning the Best Talk prize!

Thomas Ernst talks about ultracold atoms theory.

Jian Wei Tay talks about optical detection of ultrasound.

Matt McGovern uses an unconventional pointer to describe his single atom trapping experiment. The captivated audience.
